Expansion Heats Up in Chile with Opening of 4th Johnny Rockets Restaurant

New Costanera Center Restaurant Opens in South America's Largest Shopping Mall

February 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // Aliso Viejo, Calif. – Franchise owner, Felipe Infante, today announced the opening of Johnny Rockets in Costanera Center Mall, the newest establishment in his rapidly expanding portfolio of successful restaurants. The highly anticipated opening comes just months after Infante opened his third Chilean Johnny Rockets franchise and the brand's most southern land-based location in the world, situated in Concepción Trebol Mall.

Positioned in the vibrant capital city of Santiago, the 2,906-square-foot Costanera Center restaurant joins a mall that already houses three of Chile's largest department stores - Ripley, Paris and Farabella – as well as international brands Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers and Zara – in a retail mecca reflective of the country's steady financial growth over the past few decades.

With an ideal location in the bustling industrial and financial epicenter of the country, Johnny Rockets Costanera Center is poised to benefit from the region's rising economic infrastructure. While much of the restaurant's menu consists of signature items including mouthwatering, juicy hamburgers, hand-spun shakes, classic sandwiches and American fries, Infante has incorporated avocado and other familiar, Chilean flavors and taste preferences into the menu options as well.
Residents and tourists alike can also expect to experience Johnny Rocket's trademark recipe of dancing servers, upbeat music and twirled straws that have been associated with the global franchise since the first restaurant opened in Los Angeles, California in 1986.

It was that energy that caught Infante's attention when he visited his first Johnny Rockets restaurant in Miami years ago. As a passionate believer in the internationally recognized brand, Infante saw extreme potential in the franchise and quickly set out to introduce the classic blend of Americana to an eager Chilean audience.

"I brought Johnny Rockets to Santiago's Lo Barnechea neighborhood in July of 2010 with a belief that it could eventually lead to more successful franchises," said Infante. "Nearly four years later, it's been truly remarkable to see the global imprint the brand has been able to make, not only in Chile but throughout South America and the world."

Home to the continent's most extensive subway system, Santiago's new Costanera Center outpost is easily accessible to the country's more than 17 million residents.

"Felipe has a keen sense of selecting locations that are not only highly-trafficked, but also situated in areas that cater to an upwardly mobile clientele with the resources available to enjoy our all-American favorites," added John Fuller, Johnny Rockets CEO. "We anticipate that his newest restaurant will continue Infante's winning streak in this receptive country."

Later this year, Infante will add to his portfolio when he opens his fifth Johnny Rockets location at Mall Plaza Egana, Chile's first sustainable mall, offering more than 150 retail stores and the country's first IMAX theater.
