From IBM to House Doctors Handyman and Remodeling Franchise

Rochester, New York (PRWEB) March 03, 2014 - George Wasickanin whose career started with IBM in the 70's is the latest franchisee to open a House Doctors handyman and remodeling business. Wasickanin plans to bring professional handyman and remodeling services to homeowners in the Rochester, New York area as the Joint Center for Remodeling Activityagain predicts double digit growth in Remodeling for 2014.

Wasickanin's father had worked for IBM so it was an easy decision in 1979 to begin his career in computer maintenance with them. "I worked on the Kodak Park account in Rochester till 1984. My training was amazing during that time, I attended many IBM training classes on everything from the infancy of telecommunications and disk technology to advanced computer systems." Wasickanin is not new to entrepreneurship or business ownership. He left IBM in 1985 to start his own computer maintenance business."At that company we maintained a competitive edge by offering first class customer service. I learned a lot at that time about satisfying customers needs and how, if you followed through on your promises, people would keep coming back." After selling that business Wasickanin returned to the Corporate world where he enjoyed additional success in Sales and Management roles but that entrepreneur bug was still in him. Wasickanin continued, "I was working as a Systems Administrator with Crosman Corporation where I had built and maintained a network for 150 employees. However I was still exploring opportunities and when looking into the franchise world I came across House Doctors."

With his understanding of what it takes to offer good customer service and the expected continual growth in the home repairs and remodeling market, Wasickanin believed that House Doctors could fill a market void in the Rochester, New York area. "Statistics show that this market is booming. There are good contractors out there but there are also lots of companies that let people down for one reason or another. What attracted me to House Doctors was the professional approach and high ethics they offer in this growing market." Wasickanin added, "Our goal is to provide both the best quality workmanship and the best customer experience for home owners."
