Great Clips' Leader Earns Prestigious Certification in Franchise Industry

Norm Willardson, Senior Director of Business Services for Great Clips, Inc., was recognized as a Certified Franchise Executive by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives. The International Franchise Association hosted the presentation during their annual convention in New Orleans, February 22-25, 2014.

"I'm grateful Great Clips gave me the opportunity to pursue this recognition and I will use everything I've learned to help our franchisees grow and prosper," Willardson said, "Great Clips has a commitment to franchising and we know it's the backbone of our company. Our 1,200 franchisees have helped grow this great company to a billion dollar brand."

Williardson is a 28-year veteran of franchising with experience in management, operations and development. In his 12th year at Great Clips, Willardson previously worked for Jani-King International and New Horizons Computer Learning Centers.

What is the CFE certification?

Willardson completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise management offered by the institute, which is the academic branch of the International Franchise Association's Educational Foundation. The International Franchise Association is the world's oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide.

More than 1,800 franchise executives are now enrolled or have received the CFE certification. More than 300 IFA-member companies currently have one or more executives enrolled in the program that provides benefits such as specialized knowledge, industry recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing.

Candidates are required to complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program enhances franchise professionals' understanding of the industry's fundamental and complex aspects.
