Lauree Sierra and Family Open Caring Transitions of Riverside

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 - The Sierra family knows what it's like to handle a big move. In 2007, when Lauree Sierra's mother passed away, Lauree was left trying to juggle her career, her family life, her grief and the estate her mom left behind.

So when Lauree decided it was time to open her own business, she chose Caring Transitions.

The business, which just launched in February, specializes in organizing and managing senior moves, downsizing, liquidation of belongings through estate sales and online auctions. Caring Transitions of Greater Riverside serves Riverside, Corona/Norco and the surrounding areas of Riverside County, California.

"I recall how overwhelmed I was after my mother passed away in 2007. Looking back, I only wish there had been a company that would have helped me liquidate her belongings, get her home on the market and relocate her long-time roommate," Lauree said. "Those are the kinds of services we'll be offering at Caring Transitions of Greater Riverside."

In her previous life, Lauree was a sales manager and executive in the newspaper industry. She recently left her position as the Advertising Manager of the San Gabriel Valley News Group to start Caring Transitions.

Lauree owns the business with her daughter and son-in-law, Sierra and Jimmy Vehawn. Jimmy, previously a pipe-fitter with a knack for estate sales, will be working as the Operations Manager and Sierra, a stay-at-home-mom who has worked in a variety of accounting and administrative positions, will be the Administrative Manager.

"The driving desire for me to open a business was that I was spending three hours every day on the LA freeway and, because of that, I didn't get to spend time with my family. I'm a grandma and I don't want to be exhausted every time I see my grandkids," Lauree said. "With Caring Transitions, I'm back in Riverside doing something I'm passionate about and helping people. It's still going to be a lot of work, but I'll be doing something I love and I'll be close to home working with family."

Even before opening Caring Transitions of Riverside, Lauree's friends often turned to her to help with downsizing, liquidating estates, moving and more. Lauree knows that experience, combined with the challenges she had to face when her own mother passed away, will help make her business successful.

"I've found that clearing out a house of someone you love and parting with their belongings is extra taxing because you have an attachment to those things. Having Caring Transitions as a third-party to really walk you through the process, from the initial assessment to the sale of the home, definitely alleviates the stress," Lauree said.

"We know what we're doing and we take it to heart. It can be a challenge to liquidate estates and it helps to have someone not directly involved there to help you through it," she said.
