Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Honors Michelle Stark Kaufman with Baron of the Boardroom Award

March 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // Kansas City, MO - Partner Michelle Stark Kaufman was selected to receive the prestigious Baron of the Boardroom award by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), recognizing her distinguished career representing corporate and business clients. The Baron of the Boardroom award was created in 2005 and is awarded annually to no more than two members of the KCMBA per year. The award will be presented at the Bench-Bar & Boardroom Conference in May.

Michelle, a member of both Dentons’ Health Care and Corporate practices, provides day-to-day legal advice to business clients and assists with transactions and contracts. She works extensively with clients in the health care industry, representing individual and institutional health care providers in their business relationships, organizational issues, managed care contracting, and compliance with health care regulations.

She is a prominent figure in the Kansas City health care and business community, serving on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Kansas City Hospice, the largest hospice in the community. Michelle is also active in the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and was the first woman to become chairman of the Chamber's membership committee, the Chairman's Club. She was later inducted into the Chairman's Club Hall of Fame.

The Kansas City Business Journal has named Michelle one of the "25 of the Most Influential Women in Kansas City Business" and honored her with the "Women Who Mean Business" award. Other honors include selection for multiple years to "The Best Lawyers in America" and "Missouri/Kansas Super Lawyers," and selection in 2007 to Kansas City Business Magazine's inaugural 50+1 Women of Influence, described by the magazine as "the definitive list of influential women who have shaped and inspired Kansas City."
