Reaching Landmark 50 Gyms Open, Workout Anytime Prepares for Rapid Acceleration in 2014

Fast Growing Fitness Franchise Plans to Double Number of Locations by End of the Year

March 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - Workout Anytime, the 24-hour, seven-day-a-week fitness concept, is celebrating 2014 as a landmark year with the opening of its 50th location. Based on the success of their last year, the Atlanta-based health and wellness franchise - which has established a reputation for accessibility, both for consumers and for franchisees - is now anticipating an even more exciting year to come, forecasting a minimum of 100 percent growth in 2014.

"The progress that Workout Anytime has experienced is nothing short of astounding," said Steve Strickland, CEO and co-founder of Workout Anytime. "In 2013, we doubled the number of locations and are now celebrating the launch of our 50th club. With this positive momentum in place, we expect to end this year with even better results. By this time next year, I foresee more than 100 Workout Anytime locations across the U.S. and Canada."

The fitness brand's landmark 50th opening, located in Milton, Ga., will be spearheaded by the experienced, business-savvy franchisees Paul Jackson and Randy Clevenger. Before becoming owners, both Jackson and Clevenger were introduced to Workout Anytime in Cumming, Ga. as members. Jackson and his wife Lynn saw the potential in owning and operating a local business and decided to make the Cumming Workout Anytime their own in 2010. Enjoying running a successful location, the husband-and-wife duo partnered with Clevenger in 2013 to buy three Workout Anytime Franchises. The team opened their first joint venture-and the brand's 50th-club on Monday, March 13, 2014 at 13800 Georgia Highway 9, Suite NPQR in Milton, Ga., just outside the brand's home market of Atlanta.

In addition to celebrating their milestone opening, Workout Anytime's year-end numbers also indicate positive direction and an exciting trajectory in 2014. Company wide, Workout Anytime saw a 40 percent increase in gross sales from 2012 to 2013, and same-store sales increased 15 percent during the same time period. Furthermore, more consumers showed their loyalty to the brand as the number of active members increased 34 percent in 2013. With a strong finish to a record year, the fitness brand is forecasting that they will continue to push forward throughout 2014.

Workout Anytime has a huge advantage in the fitness sphere, as the brand has territories available for purchase in every state and is able to continue providing new business opportunities for growth-minded franchisees. Fifty-four percent of the franchisees in the system are multi-unit franchisees, seeing the huge potential in operating multiple clubs. Furthermore, with experienced fitness veterans John Quattrocchi and Strickland at the helm of the company, Workout Anytime is well equipped to emerge as a frontrunner of value-price workout establishments in 2014, as the company continues to target potential owners with the mindset for success with multi-club ownership.

"2014 is already shaping up to be a banner year for us," Strickland said. "With 25 clubs in the pipeline for opening this year, we're more than half way toward our goal of 100 percent growth. I predict that we'll be seeing new locations opening every other week throughout 2014."

WORKOUT ANYIME's impressive growth potential is powered by a passionate and growing system of franchisees looking to introduce quality fitness centers to more communities, whether in existing or new markets. For example, in their home market of Atlanta, Workout Anytime anticipates opening four new clubs to hit 30 locations open in the state by the end of 2014. However, the brand is also exploring new territories, including top development markets - Indiana, Alabama, Florida, Cincinnati and Chicago - as well as a move into Canada for the first time.

The 24-hour model and the fitness franchise segment continues to build strength and rise in popularity, and as competitors sell out territories, Workout Anytime is primed for a huge national growth opportunity with viable locations across the U.S

"It's an incredibly exciting time to be working with a fitness franchise because the industry is booming more than ever," Strickland said. "Our goal is to continue opening fitness locations throughout 2014 for the added convenience of our consumers, but also to provide additional business opportunities for our current and prospective franchisees."
