Celebrate Earth Hour at Local Good Earth Coffeehouses

Enjoy Live Music and Coffee by Candle Light!

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - March 24, 2014) - Good Earth Coffeehouses are environmentally responsible coffeehouses and are proud to be hosting events at various Alberta locations to celebrate Earth Hour this Saturday, March 29th.

In select Good Earth Coffeehouses, the lights will be turned off and candles will be lit from 8:30-9:30 pm in support of Earth Hour. Live acoustic music will be played during the event and proceeds from sales during Earth Hour will be donated to the Nature Conservancy Canada (NCC). NCC is the nation's leading private land conservation organization, working to protect our natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.

Earth Hour is celebrated worldwide with more than 7,000 cities and towns by switching off their lights sending a powerful message for action on climate change. "Since 1991, Good Earth has made environmental responsibility a part of its mission and celebrating Earth Hour makes sense for us," says Nan Eskenazi of Good Earth Coffeehouse. "We are also honored to be supporting NCC, who is working to protect valuable natural areas throughout Canada. Please join is for a fun and worthwhile evening out."

Also, all Good Earth Cafes will also be supporting Earth Day on Tuesday, April 22nd. Starting March 27th and throughout the month of April, customers of Good Earth can make a donation to the NCC at any Good Earth coffeehouse. People making their donations on Earth Day (April 22nd) will receive a free cup of coffee or tea, as a "Thank You" for celebrating this important day with Good Earth and NCC.
