Chambers Global Recognizes Nixon Peabody Partners as "Leaders in their Fields"

Chambers Global covers more than 180 countries and ranks individual lawyers worldwide and by regions.

Chambers Global recognized these partners as international leaders in their field:

David K. Cheng, Corporate/M&A & Tax: David is chair and managing partner of Nixon Peabody's China and Asia-Pacific practice. He focuses on cross-border transactions, litigations and investigations, advising on issues ranging from acquisitions, capital financing (initial public offering), intellectual property protection and disputes to fraud, FCPA and SEC investigations.

Ellen S. Friedman, Projects: Ellen is a project finance attorney focused on international and domestic infrastructure and energy projects. She counsels a wide variety of clients, including project developers, equity investors, commercial lenders, underwriters, buyers and sellers with respect to deal structure, partnerships, joint ventures, hedging, intercreditor arrangements, risk assessment, security arrangements and due diligence.

Charles P. Jacobs, Investment Funds: Private Equity: Fund Formation: Charley represents a number of the leading and most active institutional investors in the world, including public pension funds, funds of funds, endowments and foundations. He also represents sponsors and managers and advises them in connection with the formation of private investment funds.

John J. Koeppel, Investment Funds: Private Equity: Fund Formation: John leads Nixon Peabody's award winning Private Equity Funds practice. He is a transactional lawyer who has successfully structured, negotiated and closed more than 250 deals involving fund formations, mergers and acquisitions, and various private equity transactions (including fund secondaries, co-investments, private offerings, and cross-border deals).

Andrew P. Loewinger, Franchising: Andrew has worked with retail, manufacturing, distribution, and franchise clients for nearly 30 years to help them expand their businesses in the United States and internationally. He assists clients in structuring their expansion, negotiating transactions and advising on legal compliance with applicable foreign laws, corporate and intellectual property issues, and franchise law compliance. Andrew has worked on hundreds of international franchise transactions in more than 85 countries. He is currently the chair of the International Bar Association's International Franchising Committee and is the co-author and co-editor of International Franchise Sales Laws, published by the American Bar Association.

Kendal H. Tyre, Franchising: Kendal is a corporate attorney focused on international franchise matters and cross-border transactions. He counsels domestic and foreign clients on U.S. state and federal franchise laws as well as foreign franchise legislation across the globe. Kendal is an author and editor of Franchising in Africa, a book that addresses franchising growth, opportunities and challenges on the continent of Africa.
