Orlando-Based Cranium Academy to Expand Franchise Presence in Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa

Early Child Education is one of the Fastest-Growing Industries in the Country

March 27, 2014 // Franchising.com // WINTER GARDEN, FL – Cranium Academy, an innovative franchised private school, has announced its expansion plan to increase its franchise locations in Florida, with initial emphasis on expanding in Orlando, Jacksonville and Tampa. Cranium Academy began franchising in Orlando in June 2013 and signed its first franchisee in August 2013 (a customer who saw first hand how the Cranium experience helped their child). Cranium has built its reputation by offering school-age children individualized experiential learning and discovery techniques not offered anywhere else.

Cranium Academy, founded by Orlando-residents Eddie and Allison Gray in 2004, is not a day care center, but a franchised private school designed to mold the best aspects of many teaching philosophies into one innovative private school experience. While a traditional school curriculum is centered around teaching all children in a class the same skills, Cranium Academy monitors students throughout the year while providing a custom learning path for each child that is integrated into their reading and math curriculum throughout each day.

Cranium Academy, which begin franchising the concept in 2013, offers students beginning as early as two years old (pre-school) through 5th grade the benefit of a completely unique combination of advanced curriculum, accelerated learning, and creative social and play experiences. The unique programs offered and the success they saw in positively impacting a child’s love of and ability to learn, make the franchise model a truly unique one in the early childhood education industry.

Now, with two locations in the Orlando area, Cranium Academy is seeking potential franchisees/entrepreneurs looking for a fully integrated, successful, and proven business model developed to thrive in one of the country’s fastest growing industries. Owners need not have an education background to operate this one of a kind franchise. By offering a number of additional revenue streams including camps, after school programs, and birthday parties, franchise owners will be able to attract students into their centers virtually twelve months a year.

"Cranium Academy recognizes that true learning involves active critical thinking, which is why our teachers and exclusive curriculum focus on moving beyond 'what,' into 'how' and 'why’ and primarily focuses on developing well-rounded thinkers," said Eddie Gray, founder and CEO of Cranium Academy. "Cranium Academy is searching for those potential franchisees with an entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen, and a sincere passion for early childhood education."

From a business perspective, early child education is one of the fastest-growing industries in the country -- yet the top 50 child care companies, generate less than 30 percent of the industry revenue. With this in mind, consider that America has a growing preschool age population with the number of children under five years old is projected to increase by 50 percent from 2000-2050. And, with the United States being ranked 18th out of 23 industrialized countries in terms of education, the perfect storm is brewing.

Gray goes on to say that "There is a need for what we offer with a market that will continue to grow for many years to come. The future looks very bright for Cranium Academy."
