French-Inspired Bakery Café Opens Its Fifth Location Near Austin

April 03, 2014 // Franchising.com // AUSTIN, Texas – Lakeline shoppers will soon get a taste of the French countryside when a brand new la Madeleine Country French Café opens near the Lakeline Mall on April 3. Situated near the movie theater, la Madeleine offers a distinguished Country French dining experience in a polished fast casual environment.

"Our newest café will become a place for Lakeline guests to relax and enjoy the ambience and food of our countryside inspired café, along with the delicious and authentic French recipes that make la Madeleine a culinary staple around Austin," said John Cahill, chief operating officer at la Madeleine. The new restaurant's general manager, Erik Acosta, is a 17-year veteran of la Madeleine and is devoted to sharing the brand's signature atmosphere and craveable food to Lakeline visitors. His storied history with the company allows him to bring experienced management and culinary background to la Madeleine's newest café.

"La Madeleine is the perfect place for shoppers to sit, sip and savor the tastes of the French countryside," Acosta said. "Mall shoppers and Lakeline-area diners alike can enjoy a warm meal and a glass of wine, or a croissant and latte in a comfortable and inviting café environment."

The Lakeline café is the brand's fifth Austin-area restaurant, joining locations at Austin's Arboretum, Round Rock, Sunset Valley and Westlake.

The café's design is reminiscent of the French countryside and features banquette seating, hearth fireplaces, high-top community tables and an inviting environment. Guests are welcome to relax and enjoy while taking a break from the daily rush. The café also features an open-display pastry theatre where guests are welcome to admire pastry chefs as they handcraft la Madeleine's signature tarts, cakes and other beloved bakery items.

"Austin has been a strong market for us. The Lakeline location is a logical next move for our growth, and we look forward to introducing our atmosphere and cuisine to even more Austin residents," Cahill said.
