Roetzel's Anne Prenner Schmidt Serves as Judge at Legal Fashion Show

April 03, 2014 // Franchising.com // On March 27, 2014, Roetzel & Andress attorney Anne Prenner Schmidt served as a judge at the Legal Fashion Show co-sponsored by the Young Lawyers Section of The Chicago Bar Association, LAGBAC, the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and the John Marshall, Loyola, Depaul and Chicago-Kent law schools. Ms. Prenner Schmidt, a member of the firm’s Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits & ERISA teams, served alongside fellow judges the Honorable Justice Anne Burke of the Illinois Supreme Court and Anita Alvarez, Cook County State’s Attorney.

The show featured a runway walk by law students and young lawyers and included special guest and Season 15 “Biggest Loser” finalist, Bobby Saleem. Attendees, in addition to learning from both legal and fashion industry judges how to make professional fashion choices for job interviews, court appearances and general office attire, donated gently used professional women’s clothing to the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois “Dress for Success” clothing drive.

Ms. Prenner Schmidt focuses her practice on executive compensation, employee benefits and ERISA. She advises clients on defined benefit and defined contribution plan compliance, and has extensive experience with a variety of issues relating to these types of ERISA plans, including plan design and drafting, preparing determination letter applications, SPDs, amendments, and plan administrative procedures, plan operation, and other related compliance requirements. She earned her J.D., followed by her LL.M. in Employee Benefits, from The John Marshall Law School and her B.A. from Hamilton College. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Prenner Schmidt worked in the fashion industry, where her varied career included buying positions for big box stores and retail management of high-end purveyors of men’s fashion.
