Moe's Southwest Grill Opening First Springfield Location in Battlefield Mall

Springfield, MO – March 26, 2014 – "Welcome to Moe's!" will soon be heard in Springfield when Moe's Southwest Grill® opens at 2825 S. Glenstone Avenue, in the Battlefield Mall on Thursday, March 27 at 11 a.m. To celebrate the grand opening, Moe's is offering free burritos for a year to the first 100 customers in line on opening day.

The new restaurant, which marks the fourth Moe's in the state, is owned by Jeff Offutt, a long-time Missouri restaurant franchisee. As part of its grand opening events, the Moe's in Battlefield Mall will also offer a $10 all-you-can-eat day March 26 for Ozarks Food Harvest. The restaurant is hoping to raise at least $5,000 for the local charity.

"I am most excited to bring a dining option to this area that truly caters to families. Our menu appeals to both kids and adults, is customizable, and the price is affordable," said Offutt. "Our team is eager to welcome families into the engaging and fun atmosphere of Moe's Southwest Grill."

"Welcome to Moe's!" is more than a greeting; it's a way of life for the folks who customize each meal fresh-to-order in front of every guest. All meals, including signature menu items like the Homewrecker burrito, Close Talker salad and John Coctostan quesadilla, are served with free chips and salsa. While Moe's is best known for its burritos, packed with a choice of more than 20 fresh ingredients, the menu also features kid's, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-friendly options.

Offutt owns 50 other restaurants, including Subway and Five Guys, and employs more than 550 people throughout the state of Missouri. The new Moe's restaurant created additional 35-40 local jobs. A second Moe's location will open in Branson, MO over the summer, making it the fifth in the state of Missouri, and part of Offutt's development deal to bring 30 new Moe's restaurants to several cities across the state of Missouri over the next ten years.

Guests can also try the new Coca-Cola Freestyle® soda fountain. The sleek, stylish new fountains are touch-screen operated, enabling consumers to select from more than 100 regular and low-calorie beverage brands – including more than 70 diet or low-calorie and 90 caffeine-free beverages, 80-plus unique brands offered nowhere else, and many varieties of waters, sports drinks, lemonades and sparkling beverages that, prior to the arrival of Coca-Cola Freestyle, were not available in the U.S.

Ranked the No. 1 Mexican food concept by leading research group Technomic in 2013, Atlanta-based Moe's Southwest Grill serves fresh, made-to-order burritos and southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment. Moe's in Springfield will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
