Planet Fitness New York To Donate Enrollment Fees to Breast Cancer Research

NEW YORK - May 7, 2014 // PRNewswire // - PFNY, LLC, the largest franchisee of Planet Fitness, the New Hampshire based Franchisor who pioneered the high-value/low cost fitness experience, will donate all enrollment fees from any New York location to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation from May 7 – May 14.

"Supporting the community is at the core of what we do at PFNY," says James Innocenti, COO of the PFNY, franchise. "For the fifth year in a row we are incredibly fortunate to be able to extend that support even further by providing funds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. We know many of our members have been touched by the disease and in fact, may have used that as motivation to join Planet Fitness in the first place. While we recognize all the great causes there are to support we feel strongly that the communities in which we operate are disproportionately affected by this disease and we want to give back for education and research to further advance a cure. Last year we donated $50,000 and are looking to surpass that amount in 2014." Collectively, last year all Planet Fitness franchisees along with the Franchisor donated over $425,000.

Beginning May 7 through the 14th, all enrollment fees processed at a PFNY location in New York will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The minimum amount required for a new member to donate will be $5.
