Christian Brothers Automotive Breaks Ground on New Headquarters

May 12, 2014 // Franchising.com // Houston, TX - Christian Brothers Automotive, a leading automotive repair franchise, recently held a ground breaking ceremony at the site of its new corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.

The new building will be located at 17725 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094, on the southeast corner of I-10 and Barker Cypress. At 35,460 square feet spread over two floors, the headquarters will be able to accommodate a minimum of 70 employees at opening, with additional leasing space to allow for future growth. Over 50 team members work at Christian Brothers headquarters today, currently located in an Energy Corridor office park.

"We have been blessed to grow tremendously over the last several years, and we are running out of space at our current headquarters," said Christian Brothers CEO and founder Mark Carr. "We want to provide a workplace fitting for our stellar team members who helped us to be named to Houston’s Top Workplaces list for the past two years. This new state-of-the-art building will allow us to continue to expand and serve our 100+ franchise partners across the country."

The building is designed with both single offices and larger work areas designed to promote employee interaction and collaboration. On the first floor, there will be a full size Christian Brothers store office replica, complete with prototypical finishes inside and out, for training purposes. Connected to the store replica, a multipurpose area will be employed for new store franchisee and employee training as well as existing store new employee training. The site is immediately adjacent to George Bush Park which will allow employees to utilize the walk and bike trails for exercise and enjoyment – on lunch hours, of course. Upstairs, Mr. Carr designed a bright, modern, energetic "café-style" break/kitchen area for the employees.

Powers Brown Architecture of Houston, TX designed the new building along with interior architects PDR, also of Houston. Civil engineering was managed by Jarvis Civil Engineering, PLLC of Spring, TX and construction is being managed by Phil Amos and David Finch of A & F General Contractors, LLC, Houston, TX. 11,000 square feet of leasing space will be available; contact Michael Suttle at 281-752-7022 or michael.suttle(at)cbac(dot)com for more details.
