WIN Home Inspection Extends Veteran Commemoration Beyond Memorial Day With "WIN for America" Program

Helping Veterans Be their Own Boss, Waiving up to 50% Franchise Fee

MADISON, Ala. - May 13, 2014 // PRNewswire // - Memorial Day marks the beginning of a new season while commemorating men and women that died while serving our country. At WIN Home Inspection, this recognition extends all year long, through the WIN for America program, an initiative that awards revered veterans the opportunity to receive up to half off their franchise fee. Aiding veterans as they transfer into the civilian business world, WIN allows vets to capitalize off their valuable military skills, implementing a structured program that's proven successful among their growing company franchisee base that is already comprised of ¼ veterans.

Inspired by the International Franchise Association's "Operation Enduring Opportunity," a concerted effort to help vets find jobs and start businesses, WIN committed $1.2 million to finance WIN for America in 2012. Since the program's inception, 20 veterans have been recipients of the service award with much success. Leonard Curto, a U.S. Air Force Veteran in Thunderbird, AZ, is one of them.

"The WIN for America program is what caught my attention and brought me to WIN," says Curto. "It's an amazing program for vets, and I'm grateful WIN has made this process easy for me to be my own boss."

For many veterans, this opportunity is more than a career, it's a life changer. Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Shilo Harris chose WIN as "the gateway to a new beginning." A Wounded Warrior and motivational speaker, Harris says, "I'm able to provide for my family through a built-in successful system that allows me to thrive." He also employs his son within his San Antonio based business, while his wife handles marketing.

Steve Wadlington, President of WIN Home Inspection says, "It's no secret within corporate America that military training sets a career course, and most veterans excel in the workforce. Our military veterans regard core values, commitment, and teamwork, thus making them ideally positioned for success within WIN Home Inspection."

The WIN for America program is just one facet of WIN that stands out in a billion dollar home inspection industry. Demand for home inspections continues to grow, and according to the National Association of Realtors, 77% of homebuyers pay for a home inspection, and 99% of real estate agents recommend one. WIN is experiencing a steady increase in the overall volume of homes inspected, and has seen its revenue grow 35% over the past few years. Additionally, the home inspection business is expected to explode with job opportunities as Baby Boomers start to retire from the profession in large numbers.

WIN Home Inspection is also a participant in the International Franchise Association's Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran) and the IFA's MinorityFran Program. WIN has been named a Military Friendly Franchise by G.I. Jobs Magazine and also named one of the Top 10 franchises for veterans by Entrepreneur Magazine.
