Realtor®-Turned-Franchise Owner Enjoys View from the Top of a 'Bucket Truck' as Head of New Weichert, Realtors®

Wyomissing, PA (PRWEB) May 15, 2014 - Realtor® Jeffrey Hogue chooses to be photographed on board his popular "bucket truck," rather than use a typical professional head shot when advertising his recently franchised Weichert, Realtors® - Neighborhood One. The agency was launched at the height of a more than 20-year climb to top agent spots in Berks County and statewide.

"Weichert was willing to take a chance on me - an agent with no management experience, based on my record and (I think) my passion," he said, adding that with the support of Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. (WREA), he is already growing his young company. "Since we first shook hands, I've learned more about how to run a successful real estate office than I thought possible…the more I find out about how Weichert does business, the more I want to know."

Before real estate, Hogue worked with the Penske racing team, a stint that culminated in '92 when Rick Mears and Team Penske won the Indianapolis 500. He made the career move to real estate when he got married. "It was the right move as I am still with the same wonderful woman 25 years later." He also jumped into the real estate business with both feet and has never looked back, and at the highest levels of success as an individual agent, he joined the Weichert® franchise network to build his own business.

Toward that goal and as part of his "desire and burning passion to seek information and knowledge and to help people," Hogue became proficient, even expert - in photography, technology and marketing. The "bucket truck" is one of the several marketing tools Hogue uses to sell real estate; it enables him to get the best possible exterior photos of properties for sale. He has a race-car labeled with his company moniker that he parks around town, and he claims the "Fighting Phils" billboard at a local baseball park.

In addition to the high-visibility tools, Hogue says, "I try and stay at least five years ahead of the technology curve." Swanepoel puts out a report of the top 200 influencers in real estate (http://www.swanepoel.com/power200/). He subscribes to it because he wants to hear what the greatest innovators and top people in real estate in the U.S. are saying. Among those are Jim Weichert, founder and president of Weichert, Realtors®, and Martin J. (Marty) Rueter, president of Weichert Real Estate Affiliates, both of whom were selected for the Swanepoel Power 200: The Most Powerful People in Residential Real Estate in 2013. Weichert and Rueter were ranked #20 and #85, respectively. Weichert was recognized in the 'Brokerage' category for his more than 40 years of sales experience and the growth of Weichert, Realtors from a single office in 1969 to one of the largest privately held real estate companies in the nation. In the 'Franchise' category, Rueter was honored for his hard work and dedication in growing Weichert's franchise business. His status as a fourth-generation Realtor was also noted.

Hogue is teaching what he's learned to other agents. The big lesson, Hogue says, is that real estate is all about the clients. He tells them, "In a real estate transaction, if it's money you are after, you will not last in this business. You get too involved in people's lives, issues and circumstances for this to be about money. You must love everyone you are dealing with to do this. If the dollars are first, you have missed the point." His perspective on service has not changed since joining Weichert, he said. He still sits atop the bucket truck, "but I'm riding higher now knowing that I'm affiliated with the most supportive organization in the business."

WREA announced its first affiliate in 2002, was identified in 2005 by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the fastest growing U.S. franchises, and in Entrepreneur's 2013 Franchise 500, ranked #2 among all competitors. Currently, there are offices serving 240 markets in 37 states.
