Bojangles' Franchise Opens at Norfolk Naval Base

Chicken-and-Biscuit Chain Continues Growth in Non-Traditional Venues

May 20, 2014 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bojangles', the popular chicken-and-biscuit chain that is opening one new restaurant every week, is increasing its presence in non-traditional venues with the opening of a Bojangles' restaurant at the Naval Station Norfolk, the world's largest naval station.

Experienced restaurateurs Mario Buffa and Robert Cobb of Yorktown, Va.-based BC Southside, Inc. own and operate this new Bojangles' franchise location.

"We are proud to be working together with BC Southside, Inc. to serve our service men and women," stated Eric Newman, Executive Vice President of Bojangles' Restaurants, Inc. "Bojangles' has the utmost respect and appreciation for these brave and valiant individuals and it is our pleasure to be able to serve them."

The new Naval Base location will employ more than 50 local residents and will feature Bojangles' proprietary, made-from-scratch fare, offering a flavor profile unlike anything on the base and breakfast served all day. The menu features one-of-a kind flavors, including fresh, never frozen, hand-breaded chicken, buttermilk biscuits, sandwiches, flavorful fixin's and Legendary Iced Tea® steeped the old-fashioned way.

"The men and women who are part of the military make so many sacrifices to serve us every day, so being a part of the Naval Station in Norfolk to serve them and their families is a huge honor for us," stated Joe Guiles general manager of Bojangles' NEX Naval Station Norfolk. "The new Bojangles' will help us to be a larger part of the Norfolk community and to truly give back."

Bojangles' has almost 600 restaurants in 11 states, primarily in the Southeast and Washington, D.C. Some locations operating in non-traditional venues include Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Charlotte Douglas International Airport, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Greensboro, Charlotte Convention Center, Union Station in Washington, D.C. and travel plazas and transportation locations. In addition to these non-traditional venues, plans call for Bojangles' to open 55 new restaurants throughout 2014.
