Bojangles' Names Biscoe, N.C., Location Top Company Restaurant in Annual Showbo Awards

May 14, 2014 // Franchising.com // Biscoe, N.C  -  The Biscoe-area Bojangles' located at 515 E. Main. St. in Biscoe, N.C., has won first place in the company's coveted ShowBo Awards, after undergoing a meticulous evaluation process based on customer satisfaction, food quality and overall experience.

For earning first place honors in the ShowBo Awards, Mindy Holder, unit director of the Bojangles' located on East Main Street, was awarded $10,000. Holder has been with Bojangles' for 14 years and has placed in the ShowBo top 10 for three consecutive years, earning third place in 2013 before this year's first place finish.

Each year Bojangles' conducts an extensive evaluation of its more than 225 company-operated restaurants to determine the winners of the company's ShowBo Awards. The assessment for this year's awards included two rounds of unannounced inspections conducted by a team of two judges at both the lunch and dinner hours. Each judge awarded points to restaurants based on a rigorous set of operating standards, and results for each team were combined for overall scores.

"At Bojangles', recognizing and celebrating our hard working team members is an important, long-standing tradition," said Bojangles' President and CEO Clifton Rutledge. "It is our team members in the restaurants that fire up the ovens each day at 4 a.m., serve our Southern menu items fresh from morning to night and ensure our high standards of customer service are upheld. Our annual ShowBo evaluation is a rigorous process, and we are proud to honor Mindy Holder and the entire team on East Main St. in Biscoe, N.C., for scoring the highest and reward them for their accomplishment."

In addition to the Bojangles' in Biscoe, two other Bojangles' locations received ShowBo recognition. The Bojangles' located at 1897 Sandhill Blvd. in Aberdeen, N.C., was awarded second place and Unit Director Carol Peterson earned a cash prize of $7,500. Third place was awarded to the 5750 Corporation Dr. Bojangles' in Hope Mills, N.C., and the restaurant's Unit Director Kim Bennett earned a $5,000 cash prize.

Along with the unit directors of the top three Bojangles' receiving a cash prize, all first-time top 10 ShowBo finalists receive a one-of-a-kind ShowBo ring containing four rubies. When unit directors who are previous ShowBo finalists are selected again as top 10 finalists, their rubies are replaced with diamonds.

Unit directors named finalists for this year's ShowBo awards included William Boozer from Columbia S.C.; David Gonzalez from Hampstead, N.C.; Tia McCallister from Columbia, S.C.; Alan Hawkins from Spartanburg, S.C.; LaKrystal Gregory from Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Candance McClendon from Matthews, N.C.; Teresa McQueen from Lumberton, N.C.; Bobby Montgomery from Dobson, N.C.; Jayesh Patel from Winder, Ga.; Rob Shirley from Batesburg, S.C., and Mike Winningham from McCalla, Ala.
