Boneheads Grilled Fish and Chicken Announces its Entry Overseas

Restaurant Franchise Adds to Fast Casual Industry Growth with Plans to Open 50 Restaurants Internationally and Domestically

ATLANTA - May 27, 2014 // PRNewswire // - According to Technomic, the fast casual sector continued to steal share away from full-service restaurants last year and propelled limited-service restaurant growth, with sales increasing 11 percent. Contributing to this industry growth trend, Boneheads Grilled Fish and Chicken announces its entry overseas, with a franchise development agreement to open five locations in Pakistan. With two locations opening by the end of the year, Pakistan will be the first country outside the United States to open a Boneheads location. In addition to international growth, Boneheads reveals continued U.S. growth, including a 20-store franchise agreement in Southern California and an additional six locations set to open across the country.

"This year, we have been working diligently to enrich the brand, allowing us to increase our footprint and presence with our first restaurant overseas," explains Ron Barber, chairman of Boneheads Grilled Fish and Chicken. "With the amount of inquiries we have received in 2014, we are on track to open 50 locations in the next three years. As we continue to grow, so will our corporate infrastructure to support our franchisees both domestically and internationally."

Global Entry

After visiting a Boneheads restaurant in the United States, franchisee Mukaram Ghani signed a five-store agreement to bring Boneheads overseas for the first time, with two locations opening in Pakistan by December of 2014. With the concept's focus on grilled chicken and fish, and vast knowledge of development by the corporate support team, Ghani knows the concept will work well for Pakistan's large population, as well as in other parts of the world.

Going Back to Cali

In addition to global expansion, Boneheads announces its return to California, with a 20-store deal by multi-unit operator Malik Asif. As a current restaurant franchisee with 16 Baja Fresh Mexican Grill locations, and eight other restaurants in his portfolio, Asif is well-versed in restaurant development and plans to open 20 locations in Southern California over the next four years, several in the communities where his restaurants currently operate.

Continued U.S. Growth

Boneheads also has plans to open six additional restaurants in six states: Texas, Arkansas, New Jersey, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi. With three locations opening by the end of the year, Boneheads will see an increased presence in the Southeast and establish its footprint in the Northeast. With nine Boneheads open and several in development, Boneheads is on track to become one of the fastest-growing fast casual concepts.
