The Dairy Queen® System Brings Back "S'more" this Summer with Return of S'mores Blizzard® Treat

S'mores Blizzard® Treat as the Featured Blizzard® of the Month for June

May 29, 2014 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS – Excitement continues at Dairy Queen® and DQ Grill & Chill® restaurants in the U.S. nationwide as the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK.A and BRK.B) company, kicks off the summer season with the return of a selection of cool S'mores-flavored treats.

Available at participating restaurants beginning May 27 and throughout the month of June and July, the S'mores Blizzard Treat is a delicious blend of marshmallow-filled chocolate bars, Honey Maid® graham crackers and creamy DQ® signature soft serve. The S'mores Royal Shake and S'mores Waffle Cone Blizzard Treat also are on the DQ menu this summer. The S'mores Blizzard Treat is available in four sizes, including the popular Mini, and Royal Shakes are available in three sizes and are crowned with fluffy whipped topping.

"We are bracing for a frenzy at our restaurants this summer, as our fans get to re-experience their favorite S'mores Blizzard Treat and delectable campfire favorites," said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). "Summer and the Dairy Queen system are synonymous, and with our unique S'mores flavor profile infused into DQ treats and award-winning Royal Shakes, we've ensured our fans have enough variety to keep them coming back for 'S'more'."

Fans visiting smoresong.com can gather around the virtual campfire and sing along to the S'mores song, enter the S'mores Song Music Video Contest for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize, download the unique S'mores Song ringtone and more!

Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including S'mores, can easily be made into DQ Cakes which are perfect to celebrate Father's Day, Fourth of July and special events such as birthdays and anniversaries.

The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of chocolates, cookies, fruits, nuts and candies with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. The iconic treat has created the served upside-down Blizzard culture and since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Chocolate Candy Shop and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
