Ay caramba! Pizza Pizza Launches Pizza-dilla

The Beloved Quesadilla-Now a Permanent Fixture at Canada's Leading Pizza Chain

TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - June 3, 2014) - Pizza Pizza Limited, the Canadian company that launched the insulated delivery bag, centralized call centre and first pizza with tomato sauce AND tomatoes in Canada, has done it again and you won't believe what they've come up with this time. The chain has launched a line-up of pretty-darn tasty quesadillas, called Pizza-dillas, that will get you saying "Ay caramba!".

Pizza-dilla options at Pizza Pizza include Steak, Chicken and Veggie. Each Pizza-dilla is made fresh and carefully prepared on location, with quality ingredients, using a process that was perfected at the company's renowned training centre. The research and development phase lasted some six months.

"Like pizza, the quesadilla is a universal food that appeals to everyone," said Pat Finelli, Chief Marketing Officer for Pizza Pizza. "I place the pizza on a pretty high pedestal, but this new Pizza-dilla packs a pretty palatable punch at a price point that's easy to digest. These cheesy delights are a savoury alternative to the usual quick-serve options that are available."

Priced at $5.99 each, Pizza-dilla is wrapped in a 12-inch flour tortilla and comes with a choice of sour cream or marinara sauce. The line-up includes:

• Chicken - Mozzarella cheese, specially-marinated chicken, green peppers and roasted red peppers
• Steak - Mozzarella cheese, specially-marinated steak and red onions
• Veggie - Feta cheese, goat cheese and spinach

Baked to perfection in Pizza Pizza's traditional ovens, Pizza-dillas are available now at all traditional locations in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan for dine-in or take-out only. The company expects the new category of product to remain a permanent fixture on its menu.
