ANN ARBOR, Mich. - June 04, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Mr. Handyman, North America's number one employer of handymen, has named J.B. Sassano as President, effective immediately.
In his new position, Sassano will be responsible for the continued growth of the brand in setting priorities for the company as a whole. He will also drive new initiatives to promote the continued development of the franchise system, as well as evolve the brand team at Service Brands International. Sassano joined Mr. Handyman as Vice President of Operations in April 2012.

Prior to joining Mr. Handyman as Vice President of Operations in 2013, Sassano spent more than 30 years with Domino's Pizza as a franchisee and corporate executive. He spent nine years as a multi-unit owner in North Carolina where he was recognized with numerous company awards. During his tenure on the corporate side, he successfully identified sales and business growth opportunities, streamlined processes and procedures to increase efficiency and profitability and developed performance improvement training programs. Sassano has a proven track record of improving unit economics at the individual, regional and system-wide level, as well as maintaining strong franchisee relationships.
Sassano's promotion comes on the heels of a monumental year for the franchise system. At the end of 2013, Mr. Handyman experienced a 14 percent system-wide sales increase, recording $6.5 million more in revenue compared to the previous year. In addition, 42 percent of Mr. Handyman franchisees achieved their best financial year ever. This year, sales are already up 20 percent and are expected to mirror the growth in the remodeling industry.
