Hungry Howie's Pizza Hosts Annual Franchisee Convention

Franchisees From Around The Country Join To Celebrate Nationwide Expansion

June 20, 2014 // Franchising.com // MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Hungry Howie's Pizza, a national franchise concept known for their high-quality flavored crust pizzas, commemorated milestone achievements and welcomed new franchisees at the 2014 National Franchisee Convention. The "We're On A Roll" themed convention took place at MGM Grand Detroit from June 17-19 and featured content-rich workshops, presentations and keynote speaker Troy Hazard.

Hungry Howie's Pizza honored franchisees that met high standards of excellence and demonstrated extraordinary levels of service with multiple categories of awards.

James B. Plait was recognized with the second annual "James R. Hearn Award" for his outstanding contributions to the Hungry Howie's Pizza brand.
Named "Franchisee of the Year" for fully embracing the Hungry Howie's Pizza concept and philosophy was Patrick Shannon, who owns and operates two Hungry Howie's Pizza stores with a third in development.

Roger Muncie of Salem, N.C. was chosen for "Best Newcomer Award" for his exceptional performance and contribution during his restaurant's first year of operation.

The "Build the Brand Award" was given to the franchisee who demonstrated great strength in marketing and operations to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction was presented to multi-unit franchisee Kevin Hershock.

In recognition of the store that achieved the highest overall sales volume in the first seven days of business, Andy Newman of Clinton, Miss. was honored with "Highest Store Opening Volume" award.

Jeff Dorsten of Tempe, Ariz. and Eileen & Braxton Voyles of Chattanooga, Tenn. received the "Community Marketing Award" for their commitment to the successful execution of local store marketing programs.

The "Upper Crust Award" was presented to franchisees who demonstrated excellent store service, cleanliness and quality standards. Recipients for this award included: Sue Wall of Columbia, S.C., Ray Williams, Jr. of Lafayette, La., Keith Balcom of Lincoln Park, Mich., William and Robert Pitts of Valparaiso, Ind., Mike Cuffman of Kent, Ohio, Robert Leger of Bad Axe, Roseville and Freeland, Mich., Kevin Hershock of Belleville, Mich. and Norm & Pam Fisher of Toledo, Ohio.

"It's wonderful to gather together and commend those who have been key players in building Hungry Howie's Pizza throughout the years as well as newer members of the brand who are already making significant strides," said Steve Jackson, president and CEO of Hungry Howie's Pizza.
