Dentons Hosts Masterclass for Rapidly Growing Franchising Sector

June 26, 2014 // Franchising.com // Dentons recently hosted an international Masterclass for local investors and global brands active in the franchising sector in the Middle East, a sector whose annual growth rate exceeds 25%.

Hosted in the firm's Dubai office and lead by partners from the Dentons Global Franchise team, Babette Märzheuser-Wood and Joby Beretta, the interactive workshop explored topical issues relating to international expansion, contractual commitments and key factors in negotiations. It also focused on the important commercial drivers and legal barriers to be addressed when assessing franchise opportunities.

Babette Märzheuser-Wood, partner in Dentons London office, commented: "For many businesses around the world, franchising is the most efficient, profitable path to growth - whether you are a start-up company or a mature establishment. As one of the leading franchise practices in the world, Dentons is ideally placed to facilitate debate around key commercial issues associated with franchising opportunities."

"In a region where the annual growth of the franchising sector is around 27%, it is a very exciting time for the industry." said Joby Beretta, partner in Dentons Dubai office. Joby continued: "We were delighted to bring delegates together from across key industry sectors such as hotel and leisure, hospitality, and retail for this engaging Masterclass."
