Fourth Annual Thanksgiving in July to Be Hosted by Local AlignLife Clinics

Food pantries are often neglected in the summer months, AlignLife wants to help combat this.

National (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 - AlignLife is excited to announce their fourth annual Thanksgiving in July event. While many food drives focus on the holiday season, AlignLife wants to support local food pantries in the summer months, when they are often neglected.

Asked why AlignLife was hosting a food drive in July, CEO Joseph Esposito, D.C. replied, "Hunger affects far too many people in America – nearly 1 in 6 Americans face hunger on a daily basis – many of them children. With food pantries struggling to meet increased demands in the summer months, it’s crucial we do our part to help. Each AlignLife location will be donating all non-perishable food received to food pantries in their communities."

One in five children in the United States faces hunger – nearly 17 million children nationwide. Many of these children rely on government-funded school lunches, which they don’t necessarily have access to when schools aren’t in session. In the summer months, food pantries experience an influx of children who have no reliable source for even one nutritious meal each day. A lack of proper nutrition in the earliest years can result in substantial long-term physical and mental health challenges.

Throughout the month of July, all AlignLife locations will be collecting donations to support food pantries in their local communities. To encourage community involvement and show appreciation for the community’s support, every individual who brings in two non-perishable food items will be offered a free chiropractic exam and consultation.
