July 03, 2014 // Franchising.com // DAVIE, Fla. - Froots, a fast-service health food restaurant chain, announced today that it has signed a master development agreement for Mexico. Nummorum Group will build the Froots brand, sell franchises and open stores throughout the Latin American country.
Led by Luis Castañon and Linda Zaragoza, Nummorum is a Mexican venture capital firm. Established in 2012, the firm invests across a broad range of industries and sectors, including efficient energy, food and beverage, technology and sustainable products.
"We are very excited to be bringing Froots to Mexico," said Castañon. "The country has one of the highest rates of adult obesity in the world. Consequently, the health-conscious market is flourishing and the demand for healthier food choices increasing. We have been looking at healthy eating restaurant concepts for a while now and we feel Froots has the greatest potential in the Mexican market."
Known for its high-quality ingredients, Froots serves an array of wholesome, all-natural smoothies, salads, soups, wraps and grilled paninis. Its extensive fresh menu has made the Froots brand a popular choice among families.
Its first store in Mexico is expected to open in August at the Sonata Town Center in the heart of Lomas de Angelopolis, a private and luxurious residential community in Puebla. A total of 50 new locations are planned to open across the country in the next 20 years.
"We are thrilled to be working with Luis and Linda and be able to tap into Mexico’s vibrant and dynamic market," said Scott Mortier, COO, Froots. "This master development agreement is the latest example of our continued expansion efforts and it is without a doubt an important step forward for our company."
Created in 2001, Froots has been rapidly growing across the United States. With more than 42 locations open, the restaurant chain has not only established a presence nationally, but also internationally. Currently, Froots has locations in 16 countries and is still growing.
"We are confident on Froots’ success and growth," added Mortier. "Our proven business model provides entrepreneurs with one of the best franchise opportunities in the health food segment. It is not only easily replicable, but it also features a strong support structure, a solid operating system, and a premier training program. We look forward to bringing Froots to many more new markets."
