BGR The Burger Joint® Retains Legacy Franchise Group to Build Its Franchise Brand Worldwide

July 08, 2014 // Franchising.com // SCOTTSDALE, AZ – BGR The Burger Joint®, the Baltimore based award-winning "best burger" franchise with 18 east coast franchise units, has retained Arizona based Legacy Franchise Group to implement all its franchising marketing and sales to grow the brand in the U.S. and internationally.

"BGR has taken all the right steps in proving their concept and is in a perfect position for expansion," says Legacy Franchise Group CEO, Fred Auzenne. "They have phenomenal award-winning burger products and a menu that is a cut above the rest of the best burger competition. And it has great press for its proven business model," adds Auzenne.

"American consumers take their burgers seriously," says Darren Tristano, Executive Vice President at food consultancy Technomic. The Technomic report, based on more than 2250 online surveys of U.S. and Canadian consumers, claims that burgers are one of the hottest trends on today’s dining scene. Of those surveyed, 91 percent said they eat a burger at least once a month and 44 percent said they consume burgers at least once a week. "It may be one area of food service where they are less willing to cut back despite the current economic environment. They expect to pay more for a higher-quality, better burger and are willing to do so because the value proposition is heightened," says Tristano.

What makes BGR The Burger Joint different from other "best burger" franchises? Its product was recognized as one of the best burgers in the world at the 2012 World Burger Competition in Las Vegas. According to Ed Kelley, BGR President of Franchising, BGR sets itself apart from the competition in five ways -- #1, BRG’s proprietary dry aged beef recipes; #2, its open-flame grilling process; #3, its typically smaller area foot print; #4, its expanded chef-driven menu without the chef; and #5, its focus on the franchisee’s unit model success. "We’re looking for franchisees that want to embrace BGR’s core values: performance, passion, integrity and humility," adds Kelley. BGR franchise models include single units, multi-units, area developers and area representative/master franchises.
