Alamo Drafthouse Announces Laredo Location with Franchise Partner Bach Holdings
July 10, 2014 // Franchising.com // Austin, TX - Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas is pleased to announce plans to open a Laredo, TX location with franchise partner BACH Holdings. The Laredo venue will be the fifth Alamo Drafthouse opened by BACH Holdings and will be located at the San Isidro development, near International Blvd and Bob Bullock Loop. Alamo Drafthouse will begin construction in July and plan for a spring 2015 opening.
After constructing the 32,000 square foot space, "Alamo Drafthouse San Isidro" will be a state of the art venue with eight screens, and the only dinner theatre in Laredo. Each of the auditoriums will be equipped with Sony 4K digital projection as well as excellent screen size to room ratio and amazing Dolby Digital sound. In addition to the superior AV equipment, the layout of each screening room will eliminate the traditional front row, ensuring every seat in the house allows for a great viewing experience. Alamo Drafthouse Laredo will also feature a lounge offering an extensive menu of draft and bottled beers, wine and food. The lounge will be called Glass Half Full and will offer patrons an inviting place to socialize whether they are early for the movie or to just there to visit with friends.
"We could not be more excited about being a part of the Laredo community. We feel our concept is a natural fit and will strive to be the premier entertainment destination for the entire city and beyond." says co-owner, Brandon Arceneaux. Arceneaux's long time business partner, and co-owner, Chris Hoegemeyer is equally excited. "The city of Laredo has been a priority for our growth and expansion for a long time. It is great to see this amazing opportunity come to fruition."
BACH Holdings, owned by Brandon Arceneaux and Chris Hoegemeyer, is a San Antonio based corporation and a Franchise Partner of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema brand. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas provides a unique combination of theater and restaurant, showing first-run & independent films and special programming events with an extensive menu made from scratch in a state-of-the-art culinary kitchen. Customers order all food and drinks from servers who quietly attend to them throughout the movie. Customers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the pre-show entertainment. Instead of a barrage of advertising, a pre-show of rare (and often hilarious) clips are shown that change on a regular basis, often tailored specifically to the feature film.
Additionally, the Alamo Drafthouse protects the theater experience with a zero tolerance policy for people who disrupt the film with talking or texting. Last summer the Alamo Drafthouse was featured on global news for a viral "Don't Talk" PSA that used a humorously misguided voicemail from an actual patron who was ejected for texting during the film. The full story on the long tradition of Alamo's no talking/texting policy can be found here.
