Rio Grande Valley Welcomes Second Johnny Rockets Restaurant At Morrison Plaza In Brownsville

Global Restaurant Chain Expanding Further in Texas

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - July 16, 2014 // PRNewswire // - As outlined earlier this year, global restaurant chain Johnny Rockets continues to target Texas for franchise expansion. Since announcing their plans in March, the iconic brand has now opened their newest restaurant along the lower Rio Grande Valley, in Brownsville. Offering the signature Johnny Rockets atmosphere with dancing, twirling straws and serving ketchup with a smile, the new free-standing restaurant boasts 2,500 square-feet, seating for 100, fresh-air dining and traditional red booths combined with classic counter seating - all surrounding a bustling, open kitchen. The menu consists of fresh, never frozen, 1/3-pound hamburgers, classic sandwiches, crispy fries and award-winning premium ice cream shakes.

The Morrison Plaza Johnny Rockets, in Brownsville, joins more than 300 Johnny Rockets restaurants operating globally, and that number is steadily increasing as the brand works to open 60 more restaurants throughout this year. The new Brownsville restaurant is the second Johnny Rockets to open along the lower Rio Grande Valley, with one already operating in McAllen, Texas. Furthering their commitment to the state, Johnny Rockets has also announced signing a multi-unit franchising deal in San Antonio.

"We feel Texas has been underserved by our brand for far too long," said John Fuller, CEO of Johnny Rockets. "In just its first month of operation, the excitement generated for this newest site tells us that there are many more opportunities to open successful restaurants in The Lone Star State. In fact, as we seek franchisees in San Antonio, Houston, Austin and Dallas, these first two restaurants are both showing us that the personality of our brand and our unique Guest Promise are right in line with what fun-loving Texans want in a uniquely American dining experience."

The new restaurant is located at 3340 Pablo Kisel Boulevard in Brownsville and situated within Morrison Plaza, a new shopping center on Pablo Kisel Boulevard, just south of East Morrison Road. The restaurant is open every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
