Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly has named Carolyn among the 2014 "Top Women of Law."

Leveraging her 35+ years of experience representing health care and senior living/post-acute providers, Carolyn’s current practice is focused on three key areas: strategic transactions, regulatory compliance and managed care risk arrangements. Carolyn, a partner in our Boston office, is well known and respected in the legal community, especially among her health care industry colleagues. This past year Carolyn was one of the two lead attorneys representing Lawrence + Memorial Corporation, a Connecticut-based, nonprofit health care system, in its acquisition of the assets of Rhode Island’s The Westerly Hospital, which was recognized by The M&A Advisor as the "Healthcare/Life Sciences Deal of the Year."

In addition, Carolyn has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Boston Magazine as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts and as a "Super Lawyer." The Massachusetts-Rhode Island Chapter of the Health Care Financial Management Association has awarded Carolyn its Medal of Honor as well as the Frances M. Hernan Merit Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Health Care Financial Management. Twice she has been awarded the Nixon Peabody’s William Rodman Peabody Award for Outstanding Pro Bono Service. Carolyn is a member of the Academy of Health Care Executives and serves on the education programing committee of the Massachusetts Chapter. Carolyn is also the president of The Victor Herbert Foundation, Inc., a private foundation supporting musical charitable causes.
