Glass Doctor® Franchise Group Joins Independent Glass Association

Consumers and the Industry to Benefit from Expanded Membership Locations

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) August 26, 2014 - Gary Hart, Executive Director of the Independent Glass Association (IGA), today announced that the Glass Doctor Franchise Group has joined the association. Through this new membership commitment, the IGA adds 275 additional glass retailer member locations in the U.S. and Canada, giving consumers greater access to independent glass repair and replacement professionals.

"We are pleased to welcome Glass Doctor, which is the largest and fastest growing glass franchise company in the world, as a member of the IGA," said Hart. "The automotive glass repair and replacement industry (AGRR) in which we operate demands an association that can deliver solutions and value with the ability to cooperate quickly and effectively for the benefit of consumers. Strong membership commitments such as the one Glass Doctor has embarked on will allow the association and its members to continue to foster fair and equitable solutions for the industry while providing greater choices for consumers who seek repair and replacement services," concluded Hart.

Founded in 1995, the IGA is the oldest, largest and leading professional organization for AGRR industry and is a community of people - independent glass shops, industry representatives, educators and technicians - committed to safety and proper repair or replacement. Through education, knowledge sharing, advocacy, community building and outreach, the IGA strives to advance the AGRR industry and, in the process, to demonstrate and celebrate the power of quality service to positively change people’s lives. IGA members engage in a variety of professional programs and activities through a network of chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, and beyond.

"Participating in the evolution of the AGRR industry requires mutual cooperation and exchange among industry stakeholders in order for each to reach the goals necessary to effect positive and equitable change," said Mark Liston, president of Glass Doctor. "In this context, being an IGA member will allow Glass Doctor and its franchise locations to actively participate at all industry levels. This participation is an important accomplishment that will contribute to the fulfillment of our internal missions and that of the industry at large while increasing the options consumers have to choose the repair or replacement retailer of their choice," concluded Liston.

The IGA inspires and enriches its members by promoting the value of safety, quality and business know-how. Professional members of the IGA must pass rigorous acceptance standards, including a combination of accredited safety education and/or full-time work experience and passage of an accreditation examination administered by the National Council for Auto Glass Qualification (NCAGQ) or the Automotive Glass Safety Council (AGSC) formally known as AGRSS.

IGA Industry Partners include suppliers and distributors with some 500+ individual representatives, uniting the professional member with manufacturers of industry-related products and services.
