September 04, 2014 // Franchising.com // Hartford – Wiggin and Dana Attorney Michael Menapace co-authored Chapter Nine, Coverage A Principal Exclusions, of The Reference Handbook on the Commercial General Liability Policy, 2nd Edition.

Published by the American Bar Association's Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, this edition highlights the current developments and issues relating to Commercial General Liability (CGL) policy, which is one of the most litigated insurance products in the marketplace. In addition, this industry resource catalogs the most salient points of CGL policies, including insured injuries under coverage A and B, occurrence, damages, principal and business risk exclusions, and deductibles. Michael also edited the American Bar Association's The Handbook on Additional Insureds with Wiggin and Dana Partners Timothy Diemand and Joseph Grasso, which was published in January 2012.

Michael represents clients before state and federal courts in complex insurance disputes as well as in arbitrations across the country. He advises insurers on policy construction, coverage, and regulatory issues. He often represents stock, mutual and captive insurers on their dealings with state regulators, including proceedings concerning rates, applications for acquisition of control, and market conduct exams. Michael is a frequent speaker on insurance law topics and teaches insurance law at the Quinnipiac University School of Law.
