Founders of Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies® Recognized with Charitable Hearts of the Year Award

Pat and Janice Vinson were Honored at Sunshine on a Ranney Day's 2014 Gala for their Support of the Non-Profit Organization Committed to Creating Special Rooms for Children with Long-Term Illnesses

September 16, 2014 // // Duluth, Ga. - Earlier this month at Sunshine on a Ranney Day's Annual Evening of Sunshine Gala in Atlanta, the non-profit organization dedicated to creating special living spaces for children facing long-term illnesses and disabilities honored two people who have devoted their lives to early education, childcare and philanthropy. Pat and Janice Vinson – the founders of Georgia-based Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies® – were recognized with the 2014 Gracie's Charitable Hearts of the Year Award.

In a statement published on Facebook, Sunshine on a Ranney Day explained the motivation behind their choice for this year's award recipients: “They're not only the founders of Kids 'R' Kids; their names are synonymous with giving back to the community. The Vinsons have a passion for helping children through their work and philanthropy. The vision for Kids 'R' Kids was built in the Vinson's Decatur, Georgia home in March of 1961. Their philosophy is that all children should have the opportunity to grow physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually by playing, exploring, and learning with others in a fun, safe, and healthy environment. Their love for children and their understanding of the importance of an uplifting environment for a child makes them perfect partners with Sunshine on a Ranney Day. They have helped Sunshine On a Ranney Day soar to a new level, enabling us to help so many more families and children. It is our pleasure to honor Pat and Janice Vinson for all of their accomplishments in helping children and giving back to the community.”

In December 2013, the Vinsons became major supporters of Sunshine on a Ranney Day with a check for $50,000 on behalf of the Kids 'R' Kids International® corporate office and their franchisees. The donation has helped offset construction costs and supplies for the organization's renovation projects. Individuals and corporations who wish to follow the example set by Kids 'R' Kids can make a secure online donation to Sunshine on a Ranney Day at Corporate partnerships are also available, and volunteers to assist with renovation projects are always needed and appreciated.
