Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs Works to be More Involved in the Community

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) September 17, 2014 - To Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs owners Jeff and Donna Rea, owning a business is about more than just making a living – it's about making a positive difference in the lives of others. That's why, as they work to grow their business, the Rea's and their staff are also giving back to the community.

Caring Transitions is America's largest resource specializing in managing senior relocations, downsizing and estate liquidations. In addition to organizing, packing, moving and resettling seniors in their new homes, Caring Transitions can handle on-site or online estate sales, liquidations, and preparing homes for market. Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs serves Plano, Allen, McKinney, Fairview/Lucas and the surrounding areas, as well as state to state relocation.

Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs hosted two blood drives this summer, was part of the Collin County Alzheimer's walk this past Saturday, September 6, and is involved in symposiums dedicated to educating the senior community and their families about the resources available as they transition in life.

"We started our efforts by co-sponsoring two blood drives. Blood drives are important because they help people understand that they have the power to save lives, even if they can't give to an organization financially," Donna said. The two blood drives were hosted on June 19 and August 22.

Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs participated in the 2014 Collin County Walk to End Alzheimer's on September 6. The company volunteered as part of the committee and sponsored a team. They provided purple T-shirts for the employees , which they will wear throughout September for Alzheimer's Awareness Month, and provided a company match for all employee donations. It was a great success and a great team building experience as well.

"Being involved with the Alzheimer's Association is very dear to our hearts because many of our clients and their families are dealing with this devastating disease. When families are faced with the challenge of moving their loved one to a place that can better provide for their needs, we want them to know that we are here to help make this process less stressful not only for them but for their loved one," said Renee Thornton, community liaison for Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs. "Going the extra mile to recreate settings in their new living space helps minimize the confusion and ease the emotional stress that comes with change."

Caring Transitions is also involved in ongoing community symposiums aimed at educating seniors and their families. "We are passionate about educating seniors and their adult children about the resources available in our area. We want them to have all the tools they need to make the decisions that are right for their families – whether or not that means working with Caring Transitions. We're hoping to bring more of these symposiums to senior centers, churches and community locations," said Donna.

When Jeff and Donna Rea opened Caring Transitions of North Dallas Suburbs about three years ago, they were looking for careers close-to-home that would allow them to work with the elderly population. They were named the Rookie of the Year franchise in early 2013 and, just one year later, they've been recognized by the Caring Transitions corporate office as the Franchise of the Year for 2014.
