National Franchisor, Fish Window Cleaning, Announces New President

September 29, 2014 // Franchising.com // ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Fish Window Cleaning Services, Inc. (FISH) is pleased to announce that Randy Cross has been selected as FISH's new president, effective Sept. 10. While maintaining ownership of his FISH franchise location in Grand Rapids, Cross will lead a team of 25 at FISH headquarters as they support 250 franchise locations and develop new territories.

"Other than decisions of faith and family, joining Fish Window Cleaning has been one of the best decisions of my life," said Cross. "I look forward to continuing to help others realize their dreams of business ownership and the freedom and flexibility it can provide in their lives."

Cross became a FISH franchisee in Grand Rapids, Mich. in 2003 and was named "Franchisee of the Year" in 2005. He began working for the corporate office in 2008, recruiting franchise prospects as part of the franchise development team, and more recently, leading FISH's franchise support staff.

Mike Merrick has served in a dual role as CEO and president of FISH since he started the company in 1978, and this move will add layers to FISH's organizational structure to provide more effective support to franchisees and growth and development to its employees. Merrick will remain with FISH as CEO and CFO.

The ownership of FISH is unchanged. Mike and Linda Merrick are full owners of the privately held corporation. The Merrick family (Mike, Linda, Matthew and Nathan Merrick), will serve on a newly established Board of Directors.

"The foundation of Fish Window Cleaning Services, Inc. is well established with over 35 years in the window cleaning industry and over 15 years in the franchise industry," said Merrick. "These strategic changes will sustain present and future growth. I fully support Randy, and I have no doubt that he will do a fantastic job."

FISH also announces the promotion of John English to director of franchise development. English has been with FISH for over 10 years and will lead the effort to bring in new franchisees.
