Pretzelmaker® Launches "Fright for a Bite" Campaign and First-Ever Snapchat Promotion

Halloween-themed promotion offers discount to customers who "spook" Pretzelmaker staff or "Snap" a scare to the brand on the popular social network.

October 06, 2014 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA - This Halloween, Pretzelmaker® is encouraging its customers to get creative and "spook" its staff in order to receive a discount on its seasonal Fright Bites combo. Additionally, the company is extending the campaign to Snapchat, where customers can "Snap" a scare to the brand in order to secure their discount, which will be snapped back for redemption in stores. On Oct. 30, Pretzelmaker will post a Snapchat story with an exclusive offer to its followers for its popular Pretzel Bites. This marks the brand's first-ever promotion on the growing social network.

"Our customers like to engage with our brand, so we developed this Halloween-themed promotion that not only rewards them for being creative in store by spooking our staff, but also ties nicely to our seasonal Fright Bites product," said David Smith, Vice President, Pretzelmaker. "Since we have a large teenage customer base, we also wanted to incorporate a social element to connect directly with them and Snapchat seemed like the most logical network to reach this audience."

The Fright for a Bite promotion runs now through Nov. 2. Customers who spook staff in stores or Snap their scare at "pretzelmaker" on Snapchat will receive a $1 off coupon for the Fright Bites combo, which includes a large order of pretzel bites, two sauces and a large fountain drink. A select number of the spookiest Snaps will receive a free Fright Bites combo.
