HOBOKEN, N.J. - Oct. 7, 2014 // PRNewswire // - CKO Kickboxing, one of the fastest-growing exercise and health franchises, announced today it has opened three new gyms stretching from Santee, California, near San Diego on the West Coast to Clifton, NJ and Park Slope, in Brooklyn, NY on the East Coast. There are plans to add seven more franchises throughout the United States in the next 60 days.
"Our march across the country shows that people love the idea of CKO Kickboxing to lose weight and gain confidence," said Joe Andreula, Founder of CKO Kickboxing, headquartered in Hoboken, N.J. "Our members tell us on Facebook that they have lost enough weight to buy a new wardrobe, or have improved their dispositions and fought off bouts of depression. The before-and-after pictures they post on social media are amazing."
Many franchise owners started as clients who loved the unique workout and wanted to start their own businesses. Franchise owners include former executives who wanted to leave their stifling jobs in Corporate America and start their own businesses where they could enjoy a rewarding career helping to make a positive, energizing change in lives of their clients.
"Our franchise owners have improved their own personal fitness lifestyle. They want to help our members do the same," he said. "Plus, we give them a business game plan that is easy to follow."
The CKO Kickboxing workout differs from competitors.
"What makes us different is that we combine our workouts with cross training and calisthenics so that every muscle group gets a good workout and that routines never become boring. Cardio workouts help people reach a plateau of fitness. By adding calisthenics, the body is forced to continually improve."
About 65 percent of CKO Kickboxing members are women – including those who have just had babies and want to lose their baby weight.
"Everyone can work out at their own pace. And everyone gets their own heavy bag to practice on," he said. "Our workouts can burn up to 1,200 calories in an hour."
CKO Kickboxing was featured on the NBC News in New York City when the fitness franchise participated in the second annual NBC New York and New York Giants Health and Fitness Expo at MetLife Stadium. Reporter Raphael Miranda joined 2,000 others in taking part in free classes.
"We had more than 2,000 people take part in CKO Kickboxing classes in two days. That's a record for us," said Andreula.
