Value Place Expands Presence in Ohio with Columbus Grand Opening

October 14, 2014 // Franchising.com // COLUMBUS, Ohio - Value Place, the nation's largest economy extended-stay hotel brand, has announced the grand opening of a newly constructed hotel in Columbus, Ohio. The hotel, located at 375 Hutchinson Avenue, marks the brand's 10th location in the state and fifth in the region as the company expands to meet the growing demand for safe, clean, and affordable extended-stay lodging in the Midwest. Value Place has partnered with a local franchisee in the development of the new hotel, which officially opened to the public on October 9, 2014.

"Columbus' economy is improving rapidly and is starting to gain on other major metros across the country," said Andy Anderson, Executive Vice President of Business Development at Value Place. "A flourishing population and continued growth across multiple professional industries make this a prime market for Value Place guests who seek economy, extended-stay options during periods of relocation or business travel. We look forward to bringing prospective and returning guests a new way to stay in Columbus."

Extended-stay hotels are an appealing option for employees in careers that require them to travel and stay for extended periods of time, such as construction, insurance, or sales. The opening of this Value Place hotel will also provide a new extended-stay lodging option for workers relocating to the region or those in between permanent housing.

The four-story, 124-room hotel will feature such guest amenities as laundry facilities, high-speed wireless internet, modified kitchens, and the cleanliness, safety, and security that a Value Place provides to every guest. The hotel is managed by Sandpiper Property Management, LLC.

Value Place is focused on strategic expansion across the U.S. through corporate- and franchise-owned development. Over the next three years, expansion plans include the acquisition of land to build corporate and franchised properties in markets including Miami, Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Portland.

With nearly 190 hotels open in 32 states, Value Place has emerged as a leader in the extended-stay segment. The brand was recently named by Forbes magazine as the top hotel franchise in the U.S. Value Place was also recognized as one of 2014's Top 500 Franchises by Entrepreneur Magazine, as well as one of Franchise Business Review's Top 50 Franchises for four consecutive years.
