TGA Launches Two New Youth Sports Franchises in Seattle, WA.

Recent college graduate and aspiring law student finds new career coaching youth and bringing programs to schools, community centers, golf and tennis facilities

October 23, 2014 // Franchising.com // Seattle, WA – TGA Premier Golf and Tennis, a leading youth sports franchise company specializing school-based golf and tennis programs, continues its national growth with the establishment of two new franchises in Seattle.

Chandler Lewis, a recent graduate of the University of Washington and former head varsity golf and tennis coach, has partnered with Brad Kirkpatrick in acquiring the TGA Premier Junior Golf and TGA Premier Youth Tennis franchises on the east side of the Greater Seattle area. Kirkpatrick brought the first two TGA franchises to Seattle in 2013. The duo plans to expand the school-based golf and tennis programs in the cities of Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, Mercer Island and Sammamish.

Lewis had planned to attend law school next fall, but decided to put that on hold and pursue his passion of working with and coaching youth. While applying for coaching jobs in the Seattle area he discovered TGA. He became a coach while he was still in college and quickly discovered the career opportunity that TGA presented.

"Despite my plan to attend law school next fall, I felt there was no better time to match my passion with a wonderful career opportunity in TGA," Lewis said. "After working with Brad for the past year, it is amazing at my age to be able to combine my passion for youth with business ownership."

TGA (Teach, Grow, Achieve) was developed over 10 years ago as a business model to grow golf and tennis participation by bringing the sports to schools and community centers. With golf and tennis being two of the most played adult sports and least played by youth, TGA’s model is helping to bring new players into the sport as the baby boomer generation ages. Since 2003, 265,000 students and families have enrolled in TGA programs.

TGA, through its physical fitness and health components including the USTA’s "Lets Move" campaign, is helping fight childhood obesity. The innovative and unique program incorporates daily physical activity that helps to burn calories, improve motor skills, improve the immune system and create greater hand-eye coordination all while promoting life skills, sportsmanship, and key education subjects of math, science, social studies, and language. Parents see a myriad of benefits through having their children participate.

"With their passion for youth sports and business experience, Chandler and Brad are a perfect team to build a great organization impacting thousands of families through sports," said Joshua Jacobs, TGA’s founder and CEO.
