Local Chiropractic Office Donates 50 Winter Coats to Local Foster Children

Springfield, Il (PRWEB) October 26, 2014 - Most people think of donating winter coats once the cold weather arrives, but AlignLife of Springfield, a local chiropractic & natural health care center, decided to get a head start on that mission by hosting its first annual Fall Coat Drive to collect new and gently used children's coats for the James Project, and organization that addresses the growing need for families who can provide homes for the abused and neglected children in our local foster care system. The James Project recruits and supports quality foster parents through the provision of homes and services. "After speaking with the great people at the James Project, we came to realize that often times children arrive at their foster homes with nothing but the clothes on their back," said Dr. Bryne Willey, clinic director at AlignLife. "So with the cold weather coming, we thought it would be a great idea to help local children who needed that help now more than ever."

The end result of the coat drive was a collection of 50 children's coats, ranging in sizes from infants to teenager and adult. To accomplish two of Alignlife's goals, support those in need in the community and educating the community on natural health care, Dr. Willey donated over $2500 in services to those who brought in a coat for the drive. AlignLife is planning for a toy drive during the holiday season to benefit local charities.
