WARREN, Mich. - Nov. 18, 2014 // PRNewswire // - Art Van Furniture has promoted David Van Elslander to the newly created position of senior vice president, Art Van Furniture and president, Art Van PureSleep. The announcement was made by Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture, and Kim Yost, CEO of Art Van Furniture.
In his new position, Van Elslander will be responsible for the overall guidance and growth of Art Van PureSleep. He will oversee new product, manufacturing, marketing and sales initiatives for Art Van PureSleep in freestanding stores, in-store galleries and franchise locations.
Over the past seven years during Van Elslander's tenure as vice president of merchandising for Art Van PureSleep, Art's Backyard, and the Art Van Furniture Clearance Center, the retailer's clearance center has experienced 80% growth.

Van Elslander joined Art Van Furniture in 1982, holding various positions in sales, merchandising, distribution and customer service. He left Art Van Furniture in 1990 to serve as vice president of merchandising for Scott Shuptrine, and rejoined the company January 20, 2006.
