Wheel Fun Rentals Headquarters Acquires Nine Florida Locations

November 26, 2014 // Franchising.com // Clearwater, FL - Wheel Fun Rentals' corporate headquarters is excited to announce the acquisition of nine locations in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties, formerly owned by local Wheel Fun Rentals' franchisees. In conjunction with the procurement of these locations, Wheel Fun Rentals will be enhancing all aspects of the customer experience, which includes bringing in an updated fleet of new and improved rental products and the addition of bike and kayak tours. Doors will reopen at these locations on Saturday, November 29th.

The acquisition includes the purchase of seven Wheel Fun Rentals locations that are open to the public, located at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa in Clearwater, Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs, Lake Seminole Park in Seminole, Hillsborough River State Park in Thonotosassa, Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, Best Western Yacht Harbor Inn in Dunedin, and Safety Harbor Resort and Spa in Safety Harbor. Wheel Fun Rentals also acquired two locations that are available as an amenity for hotel guests only, at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor and the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay in Tampa.

"Wheel Fun Rentals headquarters developed all of the systems and products, so the transition of ownership is pretty straightforward,” said Sheena Walenta, Wheel Fun Rentals' Director of Marketing. "The changes customers can expect to see are elevated customer experience, fresh signage, a wider product variety, and the addition of tours."

Wheel Fun Rentals' corporate headquarters is hiring new staff and implementing an updated and expanded variety of rental products at many of the newly obtained locations. Lake Seminole Park is adding one- and two-person kayaks to its current fleet of pedal boats and specialty cycles. Fred Howard Park will soon be home to classic cruiser bikes and tandem bikes, and is in the process of doubling its current fleet of watercraft, which includes pedal boats, kayaks, stand up paddleboards, and boogie boards. Hyatt Regency Clearwater will be adding three-wheel Choppers and go-cart-inspired, four-wheel Quad Sports. In addition to improving and expanding each location's rental fleet and elevating customer service levels, Wheel Fun Rentals will offer self-guided bike and kayak tours in the near future.

Guests who visit these locations will experience enhanced customer service, completely refurbished rental fleets, and a wider selection of equipment, plus the option to take a tour. Wheel Fun Rentals offers bikes, boats, and specialty cycles of all kinds at parks, hotels, and other retail locations across the country, and has done so for more than 25 years.
