Innovative Technology Earns Johnny Rockets Global Enterprise and IT Award

December 03, 2014 // Franchising.com // Johnny Rockets’ information technology team was recently honored with the Best Enterprise and IT Architecture in Retail and FMCG award as part of the iCMG Architecture Awards of Excellence. According to a recent survey by the National Restaurant Association, the majority of restaurant operators agree that the use of technology provides a competitive advantage. Whether the technology helps to streamline back-of-the-house operations or improve the guest experience, restaurants are investing time and funds into increasing technology efforts. To improve the franchise experience, global restaurant franchisor, Johnny Rockets, created its Restaurant Operations Control System (ROCS), a sophisticated technology that streamlines day-to-day business operations for the system.

Restaurant Operations Control System Improves Franchise Operations

Johnny Rockets’ architecture initiative, spearheaded by Morris, enables the brand’s franchise partners to manage a significant portion of their day-to-day business completely online. ROCS grew from the success of an earlier endeavor, JR Portal, a web-based content management system built upon the Drupal Open Source Framework. Leveraging that framework, ROCS aims to simplify operations and benefit franchise partners’ bottom line. Specifically, ROCS will save on direct labor and cost of sales, offer services such as vendor management and inventory control, integrate with a variety of service providers, all through a completely responsive, web-based, HTML 5 application.
