TruGreen Donates More than $125,000 to Charity through Lawn Stars Program

TruGreen Employees Rally for Philanthropic Program Benefiting St. Jude, American Red Cross, Boys & Girls Clubs and Others

Memphis TN (PRWEB) December 22, 2014 - TruGreen announced it has donated more than $125,000 to several local and national charities through the company's Lawn Stars program. As part of the program, TruGreen awards local branch teams that have demonstrated exceptional growth with a $2,000 donation towards any charity of their choice.

The organizations TruGreen selected to receive donations from the 2014 Lawn Stars program include:

  • American Red Cross
  • Boys & Girls Clubs
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • The Salvation Army
  • Feed the Hungry
  • St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
  • Wounded Warriors Project
  • Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation
  • Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Lawn Stars program is a point of pride for every TruGreen associate because it shares our continued success with worthy charities - many of which hold special meaning for members of our team," said TruGreen President David Alexander. "At TruGreen, we believe it is our responsibility to be good citizens and to give back to the communities in which we live and work. The Lawn Stars program is a powerful motivator for growth and an inspiring way to connect with TruGreen communities locally and across the country."

Each quarter, the TruGreen Lawn Stars program recognizes 21 local sales and service teams that lead their respective regions in customers growth. Each winning branch was supported in making a $2,000 donation to their chosen charity - a decision which may not have been easy given the thousands of remarkable organizations in need. However, the impact the donations have had on these nine charities has been a special gift to and from TruGreen employees.

"We are so grateful to TruGreen for selecting our organization for this generous donation," said Nickita Harrison, Director of Annual Giving at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. "It is so exciting to see TruGreen combining company goals and philanthropic efforts."
