January 08, 2015 // Franchising.com // Farmingdale, New York - Few companies can boast the same sustained success as Minuteman Press. Founded in 1973 and franchising since 1975, the stalwart concept that has not only endured, but thrived through decades of industry change enters its fourth decade of further growth. The business, known worldwide for its extensive printing and branding services, now additionally specializes in promotional products that have only brought more growth to the existing franchisees and the system itself.
In 2014, Minuteman Press added 31 new centers to its franchise system, in addition to many more that purchased Minuteman locations from retiring franchise owners. When franchisees join Minuteman, says Minuteman Press President and CEO Bob Titus, they have a tendency to stay in the system. "We have many owners who have been in the business for 10, 20 or even more than 30 years. More than 125 of those owners have passed the business down to their children; that says a lot about not only the business side of our franchise, but also about the quality of the relationship between franchise and franchisee." And, adds Titus, if and when an owner does decide to sell a franchise, Minuteman helps every step of the way.
Titus notes that Minuteman's success in an industry is owed to the very same principles around which the franchise was founded 40 years ago. "We will continue to grow the same way in which we have done for 40 years--that is to find the right people and to put them in the best possible positions to be successful. Throughout 2014 we saw very strong growth internationally, especially in Australia where Area Managers Christopher Jutt and Andy Barratt put in 11 new centers. We also expect to see steady growth within the US. There is a never ending supply of good, quality business professionals who are looking to own their own business. Being that we are a B2B marketing service provider and we help other business owners grow; Minuteman Press becomes very attractive for them."
Add Titus, "We are a marketing service provider to small, medium and large businesses and over the years our portfolio of services has grown from single color print and copies to promotional products and website design. Anything you can put a name, image or logo on our centers can produce. Our R&D team is always looking for new vendors and new ways to help businesses grow. Our system wide gross sales will be approximately $550 million, an increase of roughly 15% over 2013. We attribute that growth to a combination of our Home Office keeping up with the latest trends in the market and our store owners providing quality products and excellent customer service."
Minuteman Press International offers products and services to consumers and businesses alike, including anything from digital print and design to brand identity. Minuteman Press opened in 1973 and began franchising in 1975. Today, there are more than 925 locations in six countries, including the U.S., Aruba, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. Minuteman Press aims to grow to more than 1,000 franchises within the next three years.
