Service Brands International Appoints New Vice President of Franchise Development

Franchise Industry Veteran Steve Lajiness Tasked with Expansion of Service-Based Franchises Molly Maid, Mr. Handyman and ProTect Painters

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - January 13, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Service Brands International, the parent company to respected home service franchises Mr. Handyman, Molly Maid and ProTect Painters, has appointed Steve Lajiness to the role of Vice President of Franchise Development. Lajiness joins a highly experienced leadership team collectively tasked with increasing franchise sales by 67 percent for all three brands in 2015.

Lajiness returns to Service Brands International after a successful tenure on Molly Maid's Operations team from 2003 to 2006. Most recently, Lajiness served as VP of Franchising for Electronic Restoration Services where he built the company's franchising model. Prior to that, he spent six years working for BELFOR Franchise Group as Director of Franchise Development.

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to return to the successful team at Service Brands International," said Lajiness. "The brands are fabulous and we have so much to offer – the Home Office support is great, franchise success levels are top notch and unit economic trends could not be better. I look forward capitalizing on my deep experience in franchising to help drive franchise expansion for all three of these great brands."

As Service Brands International's newest VP of Franchise Development, Lajiness will spearhead growth in new markets, support existing franchisees and identify new franchise partners who align with Service Brands International's vision for success.

"Steve not only brings great franchise development experience and expertise to our leadership team, but has a wonderful passion for our business and desire for results. He has a proven track record of growth and success in each of his past roles," said Craig Donaldson, CEO of Service Brands International. "We fully expect to achieve our lofty goals for all of our special brands with Steve on board."

At the close of 2014, Service Brands International signed 60 new franchise deals across all brands. With Lajiness guiding the franchise development team, the company plans to increase the number of franchise agreements to 100 by the end of 2015.
