ODESSA, Texas - Jan. 13, 2015 // PRNewswire // - Pacific Tan, a chain of three local tanning salons owned by Steve and Karen Bovee, has become Sun Tan City. The couple, who founded the business in 2002, bought the exclusive Sun Tan City franchise rights for Odessa and Midland in October.
"For more than 13 years we've been committed to growing our business locally and meeting the needs of our customers with the help of our district manager, Ashley Williams, who has been by our side for 10 years. As we join the Sun Tan City brand, that commitment not only continues, but grows," said Steve Bovee. "For our customers, the only differences they'll see are more options and improvements. Everything else - the locations, employees and owners - are all the same. Becoming a Sun Tan City franchisee allows us to offer better products, equipment and pricing to customers. We are excited about this new opportunity for our business."
Current Pacific Tan customers will not see a change in their pricing as long as they continue to be active members. All customers will be converted over to Sun Tan City clients this month.
"It's a very exciting time for us at Sun Tan City as we move into Texas with Steve and Karen. We are thrilled to have them as our newest franchisees. I look forward to seeing the continued growth of their business in Texas," said Rick Kueber, Sun Tan City CEO/co-founder.
Sun Tan City is the nation's fastest growing chain of privately owned tanning salons, operating more than 290 premier salons in 21 states. In 2011, Sun Tan City was again recognized as one of the 5,000 fastest growing companies in America by Inc. magazine. The company was founded in 1999 by brothers David and Rick Kueber and is based in Louisville, Kentucky.
