The Melting Pot Raises More than $600,000 to Fight Childhood Cancer During 2014 St. Jude Thanks and Giving® Campaign

Fondue restaurant franchise's fundraising nets more than $9 million for St. Jude since 2003.

TAMPA, Fla. - January 20, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc., the world's premier fondue restaurant and a leading polished casual dining franchise, raised $605,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® during the 11th annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign with the support of its generous guests. This brings the company's total raised for St. Jude to more than $9 million since the fondue restaurant franchise established its partnership with the hospital in 2003.

From Oct. 11 – Dec. 14, The Melting Pot provided every guest who donated $10 to St. Jude during the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign with a Donate and Dine card valid for $20 off a future purchase of $50 or more. An internal competition encouraged team members to ask every guest for a donation, and The Melting Pot of Ft. Collins, Colo. broke The Melting Pot record it set in 2013 for the most funds raised, netting more than $40,000 for St. Jude in 2014.

"Our team members' commitment to the hospital's mission to find cures for pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases grows stronger every year," said Mike Lester, president of The Melting Pot Restaurants, Inc. "Our team members are passionate about the lifesaving work of St. Jude and go above and beyond to support the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign each year knowing that 100 percent of donations made at The Melting Pot go directly to St. Jude to help save children's lives."

The St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign is a multi-media effort that unites celebrities, media and corporate partners in asking consumers to donate while they shop and support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude. What began as a holiday-focused fundraising effort by St. Jude has now grown into an annual tradition that raises funds to help St. Jude provide cutting-edge treatment and pursue visionary research. These funds are critical given that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.

"As we enter the second decade of our St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign, we could not have asked for a more wonderful performance from our partners," said Marlo Thomas, St. Jude National Outreach Director and the daughter of hospital founder Danny Thomas. "The Melting Pot and its guests truly came through for us this year, not only raising vital funds for the hospital, but also showing such care and concern for the children and their Moms and Dads. This makes all the difference in the world, and we are enormously thankful to The Melting Pot for its unwavering generosity and commitment." Marlo Thomas and her siblings, Terre and Tony, created the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign.

The Melting Pot Golf Classic raises additional funds for St. Jude. Held each fall in Tampa, Fla., the golf tournament raised nearly $100,000 for the hospital in 2014.
