Hamilton NJ Resident Wins Holiday Prize of $3000 Will Support Son's Life Threatening Illness with Service Dog

January 20, 2015 // Franchising.com // MORRISTOWN, NJ - Villa Italian Kitchen, announced the winner of its Holiday Wish & Win Sweepstakes and the grand prize of $3000, a Hamilton, New Jersey resident, Shawn Monforte.

"Timing was like a miracle come true," says Shawn, who's 16 year old son Nate, has been suffering from a life threatening illness - ITP (an autoimmune blood disorder), and has undergone a few surgeries in the last year. Nate's body does not have enough platelets that help stop bleeding and very little is known by doctors about this disease. Nate is a high school junior, but has not been able to attend high school due to his illness. The family has been struggling financially as well as emotionally during this time, so "Winning this prize is a miracle that will truly help in so many ways during this very difficult time" said Shawn.

Shawn travels for business and eats at Villa Italian Kitchen at airports and malls. "I was shocked and then thrilled when I found out I won! I love to have their pizza to go and I'm a big meat lover!" he exclaimed. Shawn plans to use the winnings to pay for his son's Service Dog needed for his therapy. "Nate is doing well, and will be even better now that we can get him a service dog. It keeps hope in your heart. My family and I are so thankful to our friends at Villa for making this happen!"

Villa's Holiday Wish & Win Sweepstakes was held in-store and online on its Facebook page where 40+ random winners received a $25, $50 or $100 gift card instantly, and all entrants were entered into the Grand Prize Sweepstakes to win $3000. The winner was chosen at random, Shawn Monforte.
