JDog Junk Removal & Hauling Taps Distinguished Military Veterans for Joint Advisory Board

Nation's Only U.S. Military Veteran Brand Strengthens Leadership to Address Veteran Unemployment

BERWYN, Pa. - February 04, 2015 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, a rapidly growing company dedicated to increasing post-military career opportunities for veterans, has launched the JDog Joint Chiefs Advisory Board, headed by retired Marine Major General Douglas O'Dell and retired Army Captain Larry Liss, one of the most highly decorated helicopter pilots of the Vietnam War.

President George W. Bush appointed O'Dell Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding. In that capacity he served as a member of the Homeland Security Council and oversaw reconstruction, restoration and reform across the area affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. O'Dell was also responsible for U.S. embassy security around the world. Currently, O'Dell consults on logistics management and disaster relief operations, and economic development in the United States and Afghanistan.

"Since the most recent war, there has been no improvement from the government in helping veterans find meaningful careers as they exit the service," said O'Dell. "Veterans are offered little guidance as they rejoin civilian life, so it's clear the private sector needs to take on this responsibility. That's why growing companies like JDog are so important."

Liss served in Vietnam as a combat Army helicopter pilot and Assistant Pathfinder Detachment Commander. During his career, he logged more than 4,500 hours of flight time. Today, Liss provides consultative and advisory services to major corporations with worldwide operations. He regularly lobbies on behalf of veteran's affairs and employment issues.

"Many veterans do not realize how the skills they've acquired in the service allow them to be competitive in the civilian workforce. The superb decision-making and organizational skills position them to be successful business owners if they are given the proper tools and direction," said Liss.

Operating on the principles of respect, integrity and trust, JDog is the first company to build a national military veteran brand that can lead the markets it enters. When given the choice, the American public will always chose to support a veteran business. JDog provides a detailed operations plan to help franchisees get up and running quickly and profitably. As more veterans join the JDog Movement, the collective value of the enterprise grows, benefiting all franchisees. Many franchise operators employ other veterans, helping other military family members transition to civilian life. JDog plans to donate 10 percent of its net income to veteran causes designated by its franchisees.

"We are honored to have the mentorship of the distinguished leaders of the JDog Joint Chiefs Advisory Board as we expand the brand to help military personnel across the nation," said Jerry Flanagan, Founder and CEO of JDog, and an Army Veteran himself. "Our plan is to expand the Advisory Board to include veteran leaders from all branches of the military and Coast Guard with varied professional expertise who can offer meaningful insight to the growth of our company."
